Friable asbestos, fully contained
Friable asbestos is the highest-risk category of removal work: material that can be crumbled by hand pressure, releasing respirable fibres. It is removed under Class A licensed conditions inside engineered containment, and nothing comes down until the air says it can.

The method
How friable removal runs
A friable job is an engineered sequence. Every stage below is documented, and the record follows the job.
Notification & planning
SafeWork NSW notification, asbestos removal control plan and SWMS prepared and communicated. Services isolated, the zone defined and neighbours informed where required.
Containment build
Enclosure constructed and sealed, negative air units commissioned, decontamination unit attached, and the enclosure smoke-tested before any material is disturbed.
Controlled removal
Operators in full PPE remove material with wet methods and immediate double-bagging. Air monitoring runs at the perimeter and inside the enclosure throughout.
Decontamination & waste out
All waste exits through the decontamination sequence as sealed, labelled asbestos waste, transported under tracked-waste documentation to a licensed facility.
Clearance & handover
The licensed assessor completes visual inspection and clearance air monitoring. Only then does the enclosure come down, and you receive the clearance certificate.
